My birthday flowers
My birthday was a great day! Mark made sure the house was filled with roses, and I got flowers from his bosses and my family. It was perfect!

Missed a day...
Missed taking pictures today. Yup, even though the sun was shining perfectly I did not pull my camera out. Instead I did spontaneous sunny day stuff like:
-trimmed my neglected rose bushes
-prepared my containers for new spring plants
-went to Lowe's to buy plants and realized it was too soon for the ones I wanted except
-got the plants for my fuchsia pot on the front porch and planted them
-and had a great evening with my kids and husband for family night!
A well spent day!

Ray of sunshine....
(Background music: Scatter Sunshine)
Yesterday my dear friend, Wendy J., (or should I say Wanda?), delivered a beautiful bouquet of flowers to me. Technically, she delivered them to my house where unnamed 11 year old put them on the Island amidst the clutter and forgot to tell me.
It was probably a few hours after I arrived home, probably from shuttling kids somewhere, that I saw them. I was so surprised! And happy! All day I keep looking at them...they are so cheery and bright. Just what I needed today, and yesterday, and probably tomorrow too...So I am sharing the sunshine with all of you!
Thank you! I love them and you!

Walk in the garden
While at my mom's house this summer I took some pictures in her garden. She does a great job of growing flowers in a difficult climate. I am going to make a book for her birthday with the pictures and quotes. SHHHHH!!! Don't tell her. I thought I'd post of few of them here just for fun.
Thanks to my great friend...W, who knew all the names of the flowers. See them posted under each picture...

Daisy (particular cultivar unknown)

Rose (I did know that one...;-) )

Gallardia (also known as blanket flower)

Rudbeckia (black eyed susan...love those!)
