In May I went on an outing to the zoo, with a bunch of monkeys...I mean boys. My in-laws and I took 2-10 year olds, 2-8 year olds, one 5 year old and one 3 year old to Point Defiance. They had a blast! It happened to be one of the hottest (rare) days of May.
They played and explored, it was great to see all the ages interact. I love that I still get to experience their wonder with them. It is one of the fun parts of motherhood, being a part of their discoveries about life. We took our time and didn't worry if we saw it all (which we didn't anyway).
And as the day wore on, and the heat increased, we lured them from the zoo with promises of "cheeseburgers and ice cream"! I went to bed that night with a deep gratitude for the blessings I have in my life...
I love my sweaty explorers!
