Fruit Harvest

This week I've been canning! Peaches and pears, a few kinds of jam. Really, what excuses do I have left to be doing something else....all the kids are in school, I have the jars and a great source for fruit. I really enjoyed it! Part of the reason is that I spent the first two days of canning with a dear friend....W. We worked together and knocked out 10 batches of beautiful fruit. It was a lot of fun! Then today my mom in law and I did a kitchenfull of jams. We had a great visit during it, and it was nice to accomplish a lot.

Fruit is art. Not art I can take credit for as I did not create, grow or harvest it. However, I preserved it so that this fall/winter we can pull a jar of lovely fruit off the shelf and savor the sweet deliciousness (made up word) of it all! I can't wait.
