Shoes and I, we are sometimes friends, sometimes enemies. I like my bare feet and the freedom from shoes, which frankly make my feet hot and uncomfortable.
Then I read the story about the TOM shoe company...
About children and adults in Ethiopia who develop a disfiguring disease because of elements in the soil that come through their bare feet. They don't own shoes, however it is not by choice.
Such a simple idea that has impact on the lives of people I may never meet, at least in this life.
