Memories...

I noticed this on a friend's blog, and decided to give it a try. Just FYI, you don't have to have a blogger account to leave a comment--I'm pretty sure you can do it anonymously.

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew/know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

This one isn't a specific memory but I will always remember how you welcomed me into your home and how safe and loved I always felt there. I will always be grateful for your friendship! You were like the most wonderful friend ever :)

Which one should I choose? I mean, I have so many great memories with you. One of my earliest memories was when we were at playgroup and Rainbow was just a baby and all the other kids were thick as thieves and we just talked. And talked. And talked. I kind of thought to myself as I went home, "She is going to be a really good friend." And you are!

Another favorite memory happened at the same park, and I was getting ready to leave. This guy rode by on his bike and gave me the weirdest look, so I just stared back at him with my best what-are-YOU-looking-at look. Then I turned to open the car door and realized I had a little pink jacket on my head. I started laughing so hard and you asked me what was going on, so I told you the story and and then you started laughing so hard that you mis-stepped, and then you sort of fell onto a bush and that made us laugh even harder . . . yeah. That was another good one.

Mostly, I have memories of being really me when I'm with you or we're talking together. You get me, and you still like me. I really like that about you.

Two memories come to mind. The first is when you, Elaina, and I went Christmas shopping together. You were so welcoming and kind to me. I remember sitting in the back seat and listening to the two of you talking, and feeling so thankful that I was joining a family with such awesome women in it.
The second was at Danielle's graduation party. I was bringing my son Aaron to meet some of the family for the first time, and was a little worried that he might feel awkward or uncomfortable. But when I looked over and saw you, Spencer, Katie and him sitting on the blanket talking about writing and books you'd read, I felt so thankful and happy. I could tell he was having a really nice time. Thank you!!
I'm excited for the future, as we get to know each other better, and for the chance to call you sister-in-law.

I'm glad you found me! I was just thinking about you last week and wondering about having a reunion.
Memories of you: when Spencer was 5or 6 and lost his temper, he threw his bike down a hill, I was so impressed w/ how calmly you handled the situation and how paitent you were; I remember you telling me about your brother; I remember Mark throwing something at me when I teased him about being "old" (you were in the room too).
I need your e-mail if Whitney hasn't got it.

I remember calling once during one of those AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH moments with Cinderella in her two-ness. It was so wonderful how you were able to relate to me and somehow show me the process of gaining mommy skills. Things get easier as you go along because the first time you go through something is always the hardest. You shared with me some awesome experiences you'd had when you were just like me (grin, wink) and then shared how sometimes things are still hard as a mommy.

I think I'll always remember that 10-minute conversation. It was perspective changing and just may have saved the life of a little red-headed two year old.

Thank you SO much for being a true friend, a devoted wife&mother, and a strong woman. I just love yoU!
