They call it progress?

My kitchen, no longer a room of sanity and peace. De-construction has begun in earnest as of yesterday. Mark and his dad (thanks dad!) took out the free standing cupboards on the long wall, knocked out the plaster and generally made a mess. A lovely mess, but still...

Here are the results....



Notice the plastic bags over the doors. One is completly blocked (the one to the dining room) and one is split so that you can go through. It took Manny several tries to figure out how to get through. It was funny, he kept sitting on one side and whining until he figured it out.


The thing I didn't think of was that all of the stuff in those cupboards had no where to go. Some is in the basement, a bunch is spread over all the kitchen counters, and some is spread on the window seat....


Cooking will be a challenge this week, but we'll get it figured out. Today Mark is working on cement removal in the backyard, and tomorrow he will do the wall behind the stove and fridge. I'll update when he does.
